Your stay includes two nights in the cosy shepherd’s hut, set within a spacious garden area where you can enjoy the quiet of the countryside. Inside the hut where you’ll find a comfortable double bed, a dining table with chairs and a warming wood-burning stove, making it a lovely retreat whatever the season.
Outside, there’s a barbecue and outdoor seating, perfect for slow evenings under the open sky. Nearby are two private wooden huts, one with a compost toilet and another with a gas-fired shower, keeping everything simple, rustic and wonderfully peaceful.

During your stay, you’ll also enjoy a memorable visit to a nearby countryside farm known for its small-group animal encounters. Here, you’ll take part in a Highland Cow Experience, giving you the chance to meet these magnificent shaggy-coated cows up close. After a short introduction, you’ll step into their paddock where you can feed, pet and groom these gentle animals while learning more about the breed.
To make the experience even sweeter, you’ll also be treated to a delicious afternoon tea, beautifully presented in a picnic-style box packed with sandwiches, freshly baked cakes and sweet treats, all served with a proper cup of tea.

Footwear/clothing recommendations for Highland Cow experience:
It is strongly recommended you wear sturdy boots, wellingtons or larger shoes.Â
During the winter months the field can be extremely muddy so wellington boots and waterproof clothing are recommended.
The highland cow experience includes up to 4 hours open farm access with free parking.
