The Experience

The menopause is a natural stage of life, but that doesn’t mean it’s always easy. The Manage Your Menopause Symptoms Cookery Class is designed to help women navigate this time with confidence, knowledge, and delicious recipes that really make a difference. This one day, hands on class is the perfect gift for anyone who wants to take control of their health through food while also enjoying a fun and interactive experience.

Led by Kumud Gandhi, food scientist and founder of The Cooking Academy, participants will gain invaluable insights into how diet can influence hormones, gut microbiome, and overall wellbeing during menopause. Kumud’s expertise makes this more than just a cookery class: it’s an empowering journey into understanding what the body truly needs at this stage of life.

Guests will discover which foods to embrace and which to avoid, as well as how to create delicious meals that act as natural remedies. The focus is on nutrient-dense dishes designed to boost energy, support bone health, improve mood, and help balance hormones.

During the session, a variety of wholesome recipes are prepared and enjoyed, such as:

  • Very Berry Smoothie: bursting with antioxidants, fibre, and vitamins to fight inflammation and support immunity.
  • Roasted Cauliflower with Jewelled Couscous: a colourful, plant-based dish rich in protein and fibre to keep hunger at bay.
  • Mini Egg Breakfast Muffins: protein-packed bites, perfect for busy mornings.
  • Lemon Infused Charred Chicken with Broccoli & Cashews: a vibrant main packed with protein, fibre, and healthy fats.
  • Sesame Crusted Salmon with Pomegranate & Hoisin Dressing: rich in omega-3s, vitamins, and minerals for heart and brain health.
  • Italian Pear & Walnut Salad with Radicchio: a refreshing dish with fibre, vitamins, and healthy fats for balance and vitality.

With vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free alternatives available, this class is inclusive and adaptable to a range of dietary needs.

Important Information

You will be provided with everything you need for the day, all you need to bring are food containers to take home some of the delicious food you'll have made.

The venue is a 6-minute walk from Farringdon station and the Elizabeth Line, 5 minutes from St Pauls on the central line, and 9 minutes from Blackfriars station.

The class runs on selected days from Monday to Saturday, all year round. 

The class is 5 and a half hours long and runs from 9.30am- 3pm.

We recommend you book at least six weeks in advance. All bookings are subject to availability.

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

  • Minimum age: 13 (under 18’s need parental or guardian consent) A soft drink alternative will be offered to under 18's.
  • ID may be required.
  • It's not possible have spectators unfortunately. All attendees must be paying participants in the class.
  • If you are gluten intolerant, please make the provider aware of this when booking as many classes can be altered and tailored to suit a gluten free diet.
  • You will be able to purchase a good selection of equipment that you use in our classes, as well as a variety of spices.
  • Please wear comfortable clothes and comfortable shoes (no flip-flops or open toed shoes).
  • There is ample car parking on site, free of charge.

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
