The Heart Health & Cholesterol Management Cookery Class is designed to show just how easy, and delicious, it can be to cook meals that actively support cardiovascular health. Whether managing existing concerns or simply wanting to reduce future risks, this experience is the perfect blend of education, inspiration, and practical cookery.

With so much conflicting advice about what to eat, it can be difficult to know where to begin. This class cuts through the confusion by teaching exactly which ingredients to embrace and which to avoid in order to lower cholesterol, reduce inflammation, and keep arteries clear. Guided by Kumud Gandhi, a renowned food scientist and nutritionist, participants will not only learn how to cook but also gain insight into the science of how food affects the body, especially the heart and circulatory system.

Expect to discover how lean proteins, fibre-rich foods, and healthy fats can transform everyday meals into tools for better health. From breakfast through to dinner, the class showcases how small dietary changes can add up to significant long-term benefits.

The hands on cooking element focuses on a menu of vibrant, flavour-packed recipes, each carefully chosen for its heart-healthy credentials:

  • Herb-Crusted Salmon: rich in omega-3 fatty acids to reduce triglycerides and lower LDL cholesterol.
  • Spiced Apple & Oat Porridge: a warming breakfast high in soluble fibre to help remove cholesterol from the body.
  • Walnut & Pomegranate Salad: bursting with antioxidants and unsaturated fats to raise HDL cholesterol while lowering LDL.
  • Lentil & Spinach Dahl: a wholesome, plant-based dish packed with fibre and essential nutrients for cardiovascular support.

These meals prove that heart-friendly cooking doesn’t mean compromising on flavour. Instead, they offer dishes that are both nourishing and indulgent, making it easier to maintain a healthy lifestyle without feeling restricted.

Important Information

You will be provided with everything you need for the day, all you need to bring are food containers to take home some of the delicious food you'll have made.

The venue is a 6-minute walk from Farringdon station and the Elizabeth Line, 5 minutes from St Pauls on the central line, and 9 minutes from Blackfriars station.

The class runs on selected days from Monday to Saturday, all year round. 

The class is 5 and a half hours long and runs from 9.30am- 3pm.

We recommend you book at least six weeks in advance. All bookings are subject to availability.

Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.

Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.

  • Minimum age: 13 (under 18’s need parental or guardian consent) A soft drink alternative will be offered to under 18's.
  • ID may be required.
  • It's not possible have spectators unfortunately. All attendees must be paying participants in the class.
  • If you are gluten intolerant, please make the provider aware of this when booking as many classes can be altered and tailored to suit a gluten free diet.
  • You will be able to purchase a good selection of equipment that you use in our classes, as well as a variety of spices.
  • Please wear comfortable clothes and comfortable shoes (no flip-flops or open toed shoes).
  • There is ample car parking on site, free of charge.

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
