This Blacksmith Experience Day will spark the imagination of anyone who loves trying something new.
Led by full-time master blacksmith Will Holland, this experience gives you the chance to step into the forge and discover one of the oldest crafts in the world. Whether you're completely new to blacksmithing or already have a little experience, this day is all about getting stuck in and learning practical skills in a friendly and relaxed environment.
Throughout the day, you’ll be working with fire, hot steel, and traditional tools to create your own handmade pieces. Typical items forged include key rings, letter openers, fire pokers, hooks, and more, all of which you’ll take home at the end of the day as a reminder of your blacksmithing journey.
Small group sizes mean there’s plenty of one-to-one guidance as you learn how to use the tools safely and build confidence with each step. The forge itself is fully equipped and professional but with a warm, welcoming feel – ideal for learning something completely new without pressure.
All materials and safety gear are provided, so you can focus on the fun part, shaping red-hot metal into something truly personal. And for anyone who’s tried blacksmithing before, more advanced techniques can be explored to help you take your skills to the next level.
This experience is suitable for anyone aged 13 or over and makes a brilliant gift. It’s not every day you get to become a blacksmith!
All tools, materials and PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, apron etc) is provided.
Class duration: 1 day.
Classes are subject to availability with approx 1 class a month.
Classes can book up quickly so booking in advance is essential.
