Have you ever fancied crafting a knife from scratch using the fundamentals of knife making? We offer the chance to go to a forge in Herefordshire to create a bespoke piece to take home.
This one day course is perfect for both beginners and seasoned pros as their expert team guide you through each process of design and forging. Using the basic techniques needed to craft a knife, you’ll both get involved in traditional techniques to create a number of different knives including kitchen, hunting, bush craft and fishing knives.
Once your knife is finished (1 per couple), you’ll get the chance to enjoy lunch in the open air picnic area or in their Scandinavian lodge or shepherds hut.
You’ll create not only a great keepsake to take home but also memories that you’ll treasure forever with your friends and family.

We had a fantastic day, we felt safe and well looked after. It was definitely a workout but soooooo much fun. I would recommend to all
I bought the knife forging experience for my husband and he absolutely loved it. Staff were very friendly and helpful, would highly recommend.
Forge a Knife, what a great experience! Old Forge is a lovely place in the Hereford countryside. Loved the whole set up, the showroom, cafe and knife making experience. This was a birthday gift for my husband and friend. They were guided through the whole process by a wonderful knowledgeable person, they really enjoyed the whole process and have a useable and practical chefs knife which is used daily as a reminder.
If you want a present that isn’t run of the mill, this us it!
My wife had bought this experience for me and i was over the moon, could not wait to go.
On arriving at the Oldfield Forge we were met by some lovely staff members and explained what would be happening. I was introduce to our staff member who would be showing me how to make my knife.
Bristol (the member of staff) was brilliant. He demonstrated all through the experience and explained what he was doing and why. The whole day was fantastic and the enthusiasm of Bristol was second to none. Food at the location was fantastic and was able to sit in the sun with that... Nice to get out of the Forge at 45 degrees and drinking lots of water.
end product, i came away with a fantastic Bowie Know that i had personally made (with the help of Bristol)
