The Zip World Deep Mine Tour, takes you on an underground adventure, 500 feet below the surface into the heart of the historic Llechwedd Deep Mine in Wales. Your experience begins at reception, where you’ll be directed to the cable railway. After grabbing your helmet and meeting your expert guide, you’ll hop aboard the big yellow underground train for a 90-second journey down into the mine. Don’t worry, it’s a smooth ride, and there’s plenty of space for up to four people in each compartment.
Once underground, you’ll be guided through chambers and tunnels that tell the story of the mine’s past, the lives of the workers, and the innovative techniques used in slate mining. Your guide will share fascinating facts and stories as you explore, and you’ll even see original mining equipment up close, with demonstrations of how they were once used.

After at least an hour of exploring, you’ll board the train once more for your ascent back to daylight. Once back above ground, you can drop off your helmet and continue your adventure at Zip World Llechwedd, where there are even more activities to enjoy.
