This Two Day Damascus Knife Making Experience is a gift they’ll never forget.
Perfect for anyone with a creative streak or an interest in traditional crafts, this experience lets them forge their very own Damascus kitchen knife from scratch. Across two full days, they'll learn from master blacksmith Will Holland FWCB, a full-time professional with years of experience under his belt.
Day one kicks off in a professional forge using gas forges, steel selection, fire welding, twisting and pressing to form a billet. With a bit of guidance (and maybe some help from the power hammer), they'll begin shaping that billet into the beginnings of a stunning patterned knife.
On day two, it's time to turn the billet into a beautiful and functional blade. They'll get to reveal the iconic Damascus pattern through acid etching, and fit a custom handle to complete their kitchen knife. By the end, they’ll not only have learned a range of blacksmithing skills, but they’ll also head home with a handmade tool they can be proud of.
Courses are run in small groups to allow plenty of one-on-one support, and everything is provided, from tools and materials to safety gear. Whether they're a total beginner or already know their way around a forge, the experience is tailored to suit all skill levels.
Open to anyone aged 18 and up, this is a gift that’s ideal for those who love learning new skills, getting creative, and walking away with something real to show for it.Â
All tools, materials and PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, apron etc) is provided.
Class duration: 2 days.
Each person will make their own knife to take home.
Classes are subject to availability with approx 1 class (over 2 days) a month.
Classes can book up quickly so booking in advance is essential.

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
