I arranged the afternoon tea cruise on the Thames as part of my wife's birthday present. The initial purchase of the voucher and subsequent choosing of the specific day we wanted, was easy to sort out on line. On the actual day, we were initially shown to a table in the middle of the boat, which would have been fine, but just as the cruise was about to begin, a lovely member of the crew invited us to a vacant table by the window, which afforded us far better views of the London skyline - result! The afternoon tea itself was much better than we expected and seemed designed to impress. Sandwiches were carefully crafted with unexpected and tasty fillings. The small pastries and sweet treats looked special and tasted very indulgent. To top it off, a couple a slightly warm scones were provided along with jam and cream, which were delicious. If I was being picky, I would suggest that the cream supplied with the scones was not clotted cream, but nevertheless it was all delicious. Once we had finished our tea, we wandered up on deck for a spectacular view of London's landmarks from the river, whilst the 'waterman' aboard gave us some very interesting commentary about the history of buildings, statues and bridges as we cruised by them. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable day, which I consider to be good value for money. More importantly, my wife also loved it and I earned many brownie points.
It was a lovely afternoon sailing up and down the Thames, enjoying a lovely afternoon tea. The scones were particularly good. The staff were excellent.
