It's time to get crafty with this leather craft workshop where you'll learn how to make an A5-sized book cover.Â
The workshop is based in a fully equipped studio, where beginners are warmly welcomed, no prior experience is needed. Under the expert guidance of a master craftsman, you'll choose from a selection of bridle and saddlery leathers in various colours, and then design, decorate, measure, cut, stitch, and finish your personalised book cover.
This workshop offers more than just a chance to create a beautiful leather book cover; it'll give you a unique glimpse into the world of a skilled artisan. The immersive workshop environment offers a fun and productive learning experience, making it accessible even for those new to leather working.
Whether you're drawn to the tactile nature of leather or the satisfaction of crafting something by hand, this workshop promises a hands-on journey where you can explore your creativity and leave with a beautiful (and functional!) A5-sized leather book cover.
Group size is a minimum of 6 people, maximum of 8.

When the cover is laid flat it is approx. H23.2cm x W35cm
It is slightly over A5 in size when holding the A5 book insert.
Workshops are 6 hours long: 10am to 4pm.
Dates are available throughout the year and can be discussed with the experience provider.

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

My wife and I had the pleasure of attending John’s leather notebook making course, and it was fantastic from start to finish. John is not only incredibly knowledgeable and highly skilled in his craft, but also one of the most friendly and supportive instructors I’ve encountered (as is his wife, Debbie). John’s passion for leatherwork really shone through, and he made sure everyone felt confident and capable throughout the process through clear instruction and modelling, and just the right level of assistance.
The small group size meant we had plenty of personal guidance when needed, which was a huge plus. By the end of the day, we had all created a beautiful, handcrafted notebook—something we’ll truly cherish forever. The only challenge now is figuring out what note-taking is worthy of such a stunning piece!
