This gentle and heart-warming activity gives you the chance to stroll through beautiful countryside alongside your very own donkey companion. Set on a peaceful 110-acre farm, this 45-minute walk is ideal for those who prefer a shorter experience without missing out on quality time in nature. After a warm welcome from the friendly team, you’ll have a 15-minute introduction where you’ll learn how to lead your donkey, hear a bit about their backgrounds, and be paired with the perfect walking buddy.
All of the donkeys here have been re-homed and are now living their best lives in spacious, loving surroundings. They’re curious, calm, and love meeting new people, especially when it means getting out and about for a walk. As you guide your donkey along scenic farm paths, you’ll learn about donkey behaviour, their unique personalities, and the importance of animal welfare. You might even catch sight of a few alpacas along the way!

Whether it’s for a nature enthusiast or someone who could use a peaceful escape, a Donkey Walk Experience is a wholesome gift that offers fresh air, and a lovely new four-legged friend.
All participants must be aged 12 or over. It is a one person, one donkey system. This is very important to ensure the safety of the animals. The experience provider takes animal welfare incredibly seriously, and all of their donkeys are fully licenced by both qualified vets and the local council to be safe and healthy before taking part in any of their experiences.
Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing and shoes, as the walk covers uneven and potentially muddy terrain in all weather conditions. It is recommended you wear several layers to allow you to adapt to the weather, and to bring a waterproof jacket if you can. Please bring appropriate footwear, thick walking boots are recommended, as for health and safety reasons you may not be able to participate if you are not dressed suitably. Open-toed shoes such as sandals or flip flops are not allowed.
Available to book Thursday to Sunday, 9am to 4pm.
Exceptions to this are: During the winter months the walks will be held on Saturdays and Sundays only, with Thursday and Friday slots opening from Spring onwards.
Please arrive 30 minutes early to ensure you have plenty of time to check in before your experience starts. Latecomers will not be allowed to join  the experience once it has started.Â
At check in, you'll receive a colour-coded wristband which must be worn throughout the experience.
Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.
Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

We thoroughly enjoyed our "stroll" through the woods and fields with the very placid Nigel and the "slightly" more willfull Noddy! The guide was good fun to be with and the donkeys are clearly well cared for and enjoying life in "retirement" at Charnwood.
We would definately recommend the donkey walking as a delightful way to spend an hour or two in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside.
