During this class, guests will learn the secrets to creating soft, fluffy Chinese steamed buns. Guided by expert chefs, you’ll get stuck in with making dreamy bao dough, shaping pre-proved balls into pillowy perfection and steaming them in traditional bamboo baskets.Â
It’s not all about the buns though, this class takes you deeper into delicious Chinese-inspired flavours. You’ll sharpen your knife skills by making a zingy carrot and mooli pickle and a crunchy smashed cucumber salad. Then comes the star of the show: a lip-smacking Kung Pao dressing, perfectly balancing spicy, sweet, and salty notes. Using this sauce, you’ll stir-fry either free-range chicken or oyster mushrooms to create a rich filling for your bao.
The best part? Sitting down at the chef’s table to enjoy your creation, stuffed with sticky Kung Pao chicken or mushrooms, crisp salad and tangy pickle. Or, if you prefer, you can pack your bao to take home to enjoy later.Â
Everything is taken care of, from aprons and equipment to fresh ingredients, so all you need to do is turn up, roll up your sleeves, and have fun. You’ll work in pairs, following easy-to-understand demos that make cooking accessible for all levels. Plus, you’ll leave with a handy digital recipe pack, so you can recreate your bao at home whenever the craving strikes.
