All four of us loved this tour, we could ask any question on any topic and there was always an amazing answer. Even on more sensitive topics about ownership were handled with poise and from a place of logic and truth/intelligence. I really appreciated the structure too, it felt quite fun to start at the origin of our species and early civilisations. I also really appreciated the context of how archaeology works, the theories and also so many counter initiative points. For example, how the "old stones" in much of Egypt were seen as junk (which makes sense now) and how we have so little on the anglo-saxons as civilisation in Great Britain lost most of it's literacy and ability to make anything that would last.
I'll remember this for an extreamly long time, hopefully forever and am excited to do more again one day!
This was a Christmas present for my husband - a former history teacher and therefore history aficionado. It was a superb day using certain exhibits at the British Museum as a hook to talk about different historical periods. Rossa used lots of stories to make it come alive and was very open to further questions using his varied experience of archaelogical digs to illustrate how archaelogists might use science to help them in their work. Would highly recommend if you are keen to see the British Museum in a focused way and get real insights.
