Discover stunning coastal views along the South Coast as you explore Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight on this 90 minute helicopter tour.
It's also a private flight, so you won't be sharing with strangers and you'll be flying in a Robinson R44 helicopter where each of the 3 passengers gets a window seat to enjoy the views.
You'll depart from Redhill Areodrome in Surrey countryside, flying west past Dorking, Box Hill and Denbies Vineyard. You'll pass many impressive country homes like the stunning paladial mansion of Albury Park, as well as Dunsfield Airfield, home of Top Gear. Flying south, you'll fly over the ruins of Cowdray House and its Capability Brown landscaped Cowdray Park.
Crossing the South Downs, you'll see the Isle of Wight in the distance. You'll be taken over Hayling Island, out towards the Solent and the 18th Century forts that once guarded it, now all private homes and hotels. Following the river Medina, you'll pass Newport in the centre of the island and then head for Blackgang, famous for smugglers of yesteryear. This part of the coastline is famous for dinosaur fossils and is rapidly being eroded by the sea. Following the shoreline you continue westwards towards the famous Needles. You swoop low over the water to get an unsurpassed view of these jagged rocks and the lighthouse.
You'll then turn back east to the northern shoreline, past Cowes, the islands capital and the centre of all things sailing. To the east of Cowes is Osborne House, bought by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1845 and designed by Prince Albert himself.
You'll then cross back over to Portsmouth, home of the Royal Navy, for fantastic views of the Spinnaker Tower and the Historic Dockyard with HMS Victory and HMS Warrior. Then it's time to head back over open countryside, passing villages and market towns back to Redhill Aerodrome where your helicopter adventure concludes, leaving you with amazing memories of the South Coast of England.
All aircraft are subject to weight & balance limitations, both for individual passenger weights and the combined weight of all passengers flying.
The individual seat limit for tours (R44) is 136kg (21 stone), however if anyone in your group is above 95kg (15st) you will need to contact the experience provider to confirm that the aircraft weight and balance limitations are not exceeded.
This experience is subject to availability and flights normally operate on a daily basis between the hours of 10am and 4pm.
Flights are subject to suitable weather conditions. In the event of unsuitable weather, you will be offered an alternative date by the experience provider.
It is recommended at book at least 2 weeks in advance to ensure you get the date you want.
Your voucher is valid for 12 Months from the date of issue.
Please note you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
