Guided by expert chefs, this class takes you straight to the bustling streets of Bangkok, teaching you how to balance the four essential flavours of Thai cooking: salty, sour, sweet and hot.Â
During the class, you’ll get stuck into preparing three showstopping dishes. Kick things off with a fragrant tom yum soup, packed with lemongrass, galangal and juicy prawns. Next, it’s time to fire up the wok and create a sizzling stir-fry with bavette steak or aubergine, tossed in a bold, umami-rich sauce of dark soy, garlic and chilli, then finished with fresh herbs. To complete the feast, you’ll pound together the key ingredients for a Thai sweet-and-sour dressing, drizzling it over crunchy vegetables to make a refreshing side salad. You’ll also discover the secret to cooking perfect fluffy rice, a skill that'll come in handy time and again. Once the cooking is done, you’ll gather around the chef’s table to tuck into your Thai spread, or if you’d prefer, you can pack up your dishes to enjoy at home.Â
Everything you need is provided, from fresh, high-quality ingredients to aprons and utensils, so all you need to bring is enthusiasm and a healthy appetite. You’ll be cooking in pairs, with plenty of support and tips from your chef along the way, and you’ll also leave with a digital recipe pack so you can recreate the magic at home.
