If you’ve ever fancied giving real rock climbing a go, this half-day course in Kent and Sussex is the perfect way to get started. Great for total beginners or anyone who’s tried a bit of indoor climbing or bouldering, it’s all about learning the ropes (literally!) while tackling the stunning sandstone crags.
Things kick off with a relaxed intro and safety briefing before a bit of bouldering to warm up. From there, the instructors will show you how to gear up, tie knots, and work as a team with belaying. Once you’ve nailed the basics, it’s onto the big challenge, scaling sandstone rocks up to 40ft high! Don’t worry though, you’ll have plenty of tips on climbing techniques and confidence-boosting guidance every step of the way.

What You’ll Need to Bring
For all outdoor climbing courses, please come prepared with extra warm layers and waterproof gear. A full kit list will be sent to you upon booking, but here’s a general guide:
*Choose layered clothing to retain warmth. Please avoid denim, as it restricts movement, feels cold when wet, and dries slowly.
**Soft-soled shoes are recomended, like trainers, to protect the rock surfaces. Walking boots or heavy-soled shoes are not permitted, as they can damage the rocks. The climbing area is a short walk from the car park, so be sure to use a rucksack with space to carry any climbing gear provided.
