The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

Fantastic recent blacksmithing day experience, with Dan at his Black Kettle workshop - it exceeded all expectations.
Dan was great, knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about the craft. He explained each step in a way that was easy to follow, even for a complete beginner like me..
What really stood out was how involved we were from start to finish. This wasn’t just a demonstration—you actively shape, heat, hammer, and refine your own pieces.
The pace was perfect, allowing enough time to learn techniques without feeling rushed. There was also a great balance between guidance and independence, so you could develop confidence in your own skills.
Overall, this was a great experience that I would highly recommend to anyone—whether you’re curious about blacksmithing or just looking for something different to try. We left with handmade pieces and a real appreciation for the skill and artistry involved in this traditional craft.

Well - where to start - excellent day spent at Black Kettle Workshop near Chichester. Dan is a lovely guy with an easy going nature and a real passion for his trade. It’s quite amazing what you can achieve with heat, metal an anvil and a selection of hammers!! It truly is an art. Great conversation, strong tea and a wealth of knowledge. Safe to say - I had a brilliant day and came home with an broadened mind, a few arrow heads, a couple of fancy rustic hooks and a truly awesome fire poker, all made by myself under Dans guidance. I couldn’t recommend this experience enough!!

The Black Workshop Day was a really enjoyable experience. It was both engaging and informative, and I found it especially interesting to learn about the processes involved. Daniel played a big part in making the day even better by sharing the history behind how everything was done, which added valuable context and made the whole experience more meaningful. Overall, it was a great day that I would definitely recommend.

I have just spent a day at the Black Kettle Workshop with Dan. It was a brilliant experience, I enjoyed every moment. Dan is an Skillful blacksmith. I had no real experience of blacksmithing, but with Dans patient and knowledgeable turtoring I leared anout an ancient craft and its history. It was a one to one teaching of the processes and I have to say I was pleased with what I was able to create in metal to take away with me, I surprised myself, but that was all down to Dans approach in teaching. I can not recommend this experience enough. It was great being in a working forge, it's a hands on metal day. I came away with a new poker fir my fire,
